⟪⟪    Belt of Venus & Earth's shadow    ⟫⟫

 

The Belt of Venus is the pink/purple band that you can see after sunset and before sunrise, opposite to the sun's position. It is caused by backscattering of the last rays of sunlight. The blue band that can be seen directly under it is the shadow of the earth.
